What We Do

Since 2008, Parkash annual event has been organised by the Nanaksar Thath Isher Darbar Trust and has become an iconic event for not just Sikhs but for all communities living in UK. The 3 day event hosts thousands of people visiting to connect with Gurbani and also to enjoy number of fun activities such as kids camps, exhibitions, stage plays, martial art displays, food stalls and sports tournaments.

OUR MISSION

Nanaksar Thath Isher Darbar Trust is a non-profit organisation for building a strong and dynamic society through the virtues of Gurbani. The idea of Parkash smagams is all about securing the values and principles of Sikhism in the hearts and minds of young generation so that they can connect with Gurbani and use the guidance within Guru Granth Sahib to achieve success in their lives. The three day event provides many opportunities for youngsters to take part in seva in all the different areas of the smagam. WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVED

  • Parkash is one of the most successful events in UK that celebrates the Sikh ethos and values. The event has been running from past 9 years and every year it defines a new limits for success.
  • Parkash has become the biggest Sikh event which hosts more than 50,000 people over the period of three days.
  • In the past events, all the seva and organisation has been done by volunteers within the community which includes many families and children working in various areas to make this event a success.
  • The past events have included many awe aspiring and educational exhibitions such as Sikh contributions in world wars, history of Golden Temple, concept of Saint Soldier in Sikhism and many more.
  • Every year the Parkash team organises interfaith conferences where leaders of all beliefs and faiths come together and share a dialogue on the ongoing issues affecting our society.
  • We have established a very strong network of gurdwaras and volunteers in the past 9 years who are committed to carry on their roles and responsibilities over the period of three days.
